I am an international tax attorney and I recently left security in my career to start my own practice, move my family across the country, and open a School of Rock franchise. I love music and I love seeing the transformative effect music can have on a child. The most important parts of my life, and the parts that truly define me, are my family and my religion. While I was raised as a member of the Church, I don't feel that I was truly converted until much later in my life. I am the type of person that requires my own personal experiences and thoughts to dictate my beliefs, which may have lead me to truly accept the Gospel in my life later that it should have. The older I get, the more I am truly grateful for the Gospel and my beliefs. I am grateful for the knowledge that I am a son of a loving Heavenly Father and that through our Savior I can overcome all of my imperfections, earthly trials, and challenges. I know that as I continue to strive to live the principles of the Gospel that my family and I will be together forever. The promise of eternal families is the greatest blessing and comfort in my life. Are all Mormons required to serve a mission? The simple answer is no - although young men at the age of 19 are strongly encouraged to serve a full time mission. While I was raised in the Church, I did not serve a full time mission.
