Money in my name as survivorship; no probate involved. Sibling wants cash fast. IRS first told me I would not owe but I am reading on their site that I may have to pay gift tax. Sibling lent no help to parent; don't want to pay for her gain. Anyone have knowledge of this type of situation. Do I consult a tax attorney?
